[106] VISAGE: I WISH SHE COULD SAY THIS ABOUT "IDOL"!

Sweethearts, on "Sunny" much of the chitchat over the past 2 weeks has been about the return of "American Idol" for its 7th season. Now, loveys, as you all know, Visage is, like many of us, an Idol-nista. However, Kidddies, cos she has Lillie and Lola's respective college funds to consider, she can't be as "loose-lipped" as she wants to be, natch. Actually, it's more like La Mich can't be as frank as Lady Astrid would like her to be on the air. tee-hee

Anywho, Baby Boos, here is me channelling my inner Visageterienne. Sadies and Trents, I present...

VISAGE: WHAT "AMERICAN IDOL" SEASON 7 SHOULD NOT HAVE (according to Lady Astrid St. Dennis living vicariously through La Mich):

1. Obese African-American women. Mindy Doo, LaKisha, Mandisa, J. Hud, Kim Locke. It's been done. Aren't there any plus size Caucasian, Hispanic or Asian women out there with pipes?!

2. White dorky males. Phil Stacy...Clay...

3. Any singer who sounds "old" e.g. Mindy Doo, Taylor Hicks, John Stevens.

And what about you, Sugar Plums? What "Idol" mainstay would you like to see MIA this season?

[104] VISAGE AND THE FIRST '45 SHE EVER BOUGHT

Happy New Year, Babies!

Sorry for the delay, dollfaces, but oy vey, between my bout with the flu and the Lord’s sciatica (he’s off to physical therapy in a few hours), I have been verklempt.

Sugarplums, I’m still adjusting to our new home. It’s a bit overwhelming and I’m still trying to figure out HTML and colour schemes, blah blah.

Anywho, babies, did you hear this morning? VISAGE’s first ’45 that she bought herself was…

In case anyone hasn't heard; Michelle Visage just announced that she is leaving L.A. and returning to New York to co-host the morning show on WNEW "Mix 102-7" with Rick Stacy and RuPaul. (she previously worked at crosstown WKTU with RuPaul several years ago). She had been in L.A. the past few years co-hosting mornings on urban AC KHHT "Hot 92.3".
I was just wondering if her new job at WNEW will affect her shift on "the Beat" on Sirius. Has anyone heard if she is still going to be voicetracking her daily shift for "the Beat"? I hope so. I like her a lot, and she is a well known former dance artist, and also a well known air personality in NYC. Guess they'll have to drop the "live from Hollywood" sweeper she has though. Hopefully she will continue to do the "hollywood gossip" though.
I wouldn't think her move to WNEW would cause her to cut out her Sirius shift. Many of the Sirius dj's still work in FM radio (most in or around NYC), and since most of the Sirius shifts are voicetracked, I don't see a problem. (Geronimo, who is over the dance and hip hop programming at Sirius, does weekend shifts at WNEW as well. Also, I think Chuck B. still does shifts at KTU too. Also, other Sirius jocks, like Kim Ashley, Jewlez, Liquid Todd, Carol Miller, etc. still do shifts at New York City FM stations as well). Anyway, just wondering if anyone had heard about M. Visage's return to NYC.

Yes i heard it from one of my friends at the station. She will still dj for Sirius. It wont affect her show at all.

She was also in the group The S.O.U.L. System That had the hit song "Its gonna be a lovely day" New York and the listeners of Mix 102. 7 FM The New Mix gladly welcome the beautiful and talend Michelle Back to NYC.

Michelle Visage is a hottie with a capital H, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who knew who Seduction was. :D

I'm also glad she's getting back on the air in New York, so long as we don't lose her here at Sirius!

From Singing Live to the Morning Drive: Michelle Visage vs. Miss Jones

We're not going to say that Miss Jones has it hard. She's making a million plus at Hot 97, she's got a bouncing baby boy named Jalen, and she turns up the heat and controversy often enough to where you fear she may lose her job every morning.

Back in 1994, we, the fans of hip hop, wondered: will Miss Jones get her big break? She's pretty. She can sing. She is, by all appearances, spunky. She's like the new Mary J. Blige! In fact, Motown (her label back then) could've marketed Miss Jones as "the new Mary J. Blige", even if Monifah’s record company was making the same claim.

Well, that didn’t happen, neither for Miss Jones (nor Monifah). The new Mary J. title would go to Faith Evans.

Michelle Visage is herself pretty/funny/spunky. She's got her own singing background peppered with a stint on VH1 as Rupaul’s co-host on Ru’s talk show that ran in 1996.

After her girl group Seduction broke up, Michelle Visage tried her hand at collaborating with the likes of Freestyle kings TKA but never quite broke through.

Of the two, Miss Jones was the first to hit the radio waves. In ‘95, she began doing a shift here and there for Hot 97.

A year later, Michelle Visage would make her deejay debut as part of KTU’s morning team, a gig that would last 7 years.

Michelle Visage is making a concerted push in her career: She’s working both as the morning host on Infinity’s Mix 102.7 as well as being heard on Sirius Satellite Radio, future home of Howard Stern.

Miss Jones is plodding along with a new morning crew (bar DJ Envy), possibly awaiting a lawsuit of sorts from fired comedian (and Tsunami song scapegoat) Todd Lynn.
